Greta Thunberg 23 Sept 2019

The youngest in our society are those who will be most affected by the onslaught of climate change and ecosystem collapse and yet they are hardly ever given a platform. Looking into a child’s eyes and explaining what they are doing about the crises can really help politicians focus on what needs to be done. It is hugely motivating.

With the CEE Bill is due to (not) have its second reading on the 10th September 2021 so we are organizing a childrens’ lobby for the bill at Parliament in London on Weds 8th September, after school 4.30 - 6pm. For those living outside of London, in regional constituencies, we are calling for simultaneous lobbying at your respective constituency offices or councils where parents go along with their children after school. The further aim is to get regional press for the bill.

To achieve this we have teamed up with Letters to the Earth and we are inviting campaigners’ children to write letters and poems to the Earth describing their hopes and dreams for the future. We are aiming to have a moving display of these for the politicians to look at in Parliament on the 8th September and then for that exhibition to grow and travel all the way up to COP26.
